Bespoke Oak Outdoor Kitchen

Location

Extension

This project involved creating a completely bespoke outdoor kitchen and entertainment space at the rear of a family home on Stoke Road. The client wanted a space that felt permanent, high-quality, and usable all year round, not just a simple garden structure.

TJC Projects designed and built a full oak-framed pavilion with a slate roof, integrated lighting, and natural stone finishes to match the property’s character. The result is a warm, durable and beautifully crafted garden extension that functions as both a kitchen and an outdoor living room.

Completed interior of the oak-framed outdoor kitchen, featuring full stone cladding, bar seating, and integrated lighting

The interior of the pavilion was designed to feel warm, durable, and fully functional.
We installed a complete outdoor kitchen setup, including:

  • A built-in BBQ and cooking station
  • Full-height stone cladding across the back wall
  • Solid countertops with natural stone finishes
  • A built-in sink and preparation area
  • Bar seating framed within the oak structure
  • Integrated lighting, including wall lights and feature chandeliers

The combination of oak, stone, and lighting gives the space a premium, lodge-like atmosphere while remaining practical for everyday use.

Testimonial
“Trevor and the team have completely transformed our garden. The outdoor kitchen is built beautifully — solid oak, stunning stonework, and the attention to detail is incredible. It feels like a proper extension of our home now, not just a garden structure. We’ve already hosted so many evenings out here and everyone comments on the quality. Absolutely brilliant job.”

During the mid-build phase, the structure of the outdoor kitchen began to take shape. With the oak posts securely installed and the main framework in place, we moved on to forming the kitchen layout, preparing the service runs, and starting the stonework. This stage also involved setting the roof structure, checking levels, and ensuring that every element aligned perfectly with the final design.

Seeing the pavilion come together at this point gave the clients a clear sense of the space, how the bar, seating, and cooking areas would function, and how the structure would tie into the rest of the garden. It was a crucial stage of refining details and making sure the build remained solid, accurate, and ready for finishing.

Once the kitchen structure and interior finishes were completed, we focused on blending the pavilion with the rest of the garden. Additional work included installing a new patio, finishing the slate roof, and adding outdoor-grade lighting fixtures around the posts and seating areas.

This ensured the pavilion wasn’t just a standalone structure but an integrated extension of the garden — suitable for large gatherings, family dining, and all-weather use.
